( Read more... )Yamabuki Saaya
- Saaya clearly loves her mother, so any hurt/comfort scenarios. Saaya helping her out and worrying about her health.
- Saaya having second thoughts about the band even after she finally joins them. But she's probably doing better than she thinks she is.
- Anyone from Poppin' Party talks to Saaya to help her open up about her feelings.
- Previous band experiences in her old band. What relationships did she form with them?
- Taking care of her younger siblings.
- Saaya serving customers at the bakery.
- Does Kasumi or Arisa help her in some way?
- Unspoken communication.
Toyama Kasumi
- Kasumi gets good ideas for Poppin' Party and brings the band closer together.
- I like seeing supporting Saaya even though she's heartbroken that Saaya didn't want to be in Poppin' Party. More thoughts about her?
- Kasumi practicing with her guitar late at night or singing. How does she comeback after her struggle to sing and impress the owner?
- Leading Poppin' Party after the anime's ending. What do they go on to do next?
- I love Kasumi's bright enthusiasm and silliness. Have her doing something fun about she's ever cheerful about?
- Kasumi helps with Arisa's pawn shop.
- Feelings about losing her voice. We see how it happens, but what else might she be thinking? What if she didn't get her voice back at the time she did?
Ichigaya Arisa
- Coming around to make Poppin' Party successful. How does her attitude change?
- What kinds of things are sold in the pawn shop? Does she feel nostalgic about something she sells, like Kasumi's guitar?
- Arisa bantering about anything and having a strong stance. The band, about her schoolwork, hobbies, things that exasperate her.
- Arisa helps Kasumi with her guitar.
- Why she enjoys playing the keyboard.
Saaya/Kasumi
- I really liked that Kasumi never gave up on Saaya, and I wouldn't mind seeing Saaya do the same thing for Kasumi in return.
- Does Saaya help Kasumi out with something that she absolutely can't do by herself?
- Kasumi ending Saaya support while her mother's not feeling well.
- Kasumi's feelings for Saaya develop while Saaya refuses to join the band, which lead to complications.
- Arisa realizes her feelings about Kasumi and figures out a way to tell her all about them... just not the way that she initially expects?
- Does Kasumi's show of affection far more outspoken than Arisa's?
- Does Arisa shy away from showing physical affection in public or in front of the rest of the band because of Kasumi?
- Despite her being more recluse compared to the others, decides she wants to go on a date. Is she happy to try anything out, or is Arisa a stickler about sticking to a "schedule"?
- Do Arisa and Saaya realize they have a lot and common and end up talking to each other about their similar problems?
- How does that bring them closer together and how does it affect their band performances?
- Quiet moments, talking about their ambitions.
- Does Arisa come to visit Saaya late at night for some reason?
- I wouldn't mind seeing them in futurefic.
BanG Dream! is the story about five girls that befriend each other and form a band. Over the course of the story, the characters learn how to play their respective instruments and try to prove their talents through their performances. It is a slice of life and music focused series. The series is 13 episodes and can be accessed on Crunchyroll.
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon | Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
Kanna Kamui, Saikawa Riko
I like this fandom because of not only the wacky hijicks but the possible cultural clashes. But, in the end, I don't think either Saikawa or Kanna would really have any problems with the cultural bits of it, considering they're accepting of each other. Saikawa's crush on Kanna is so cute! I love that she's in heaven every time Kanna touches her, or she looks her way. I wonder if Kanna is more aware than she lets on, and I'd love to see that explored in fic!
Kanna Kamui
Kanna Kamui
- Kanna trying to fit in with the other kids in school. Does she make a big mistake and makes one of the other kids angry at her?
- Spending time with Tohru or Kobayashi, or anyone else really.
- Kanna before she came to the human world.
- I like how Kanna quickly accepts Kobayashi into her life as a parental figure and seeks out her guidance in a new place she isn't used to. Kanna being happy with that. Kanna learning something from her.
- Kanna makes Kobayashi a gift at school during art class and gives it to her.
- Kanna's doing well at school—or maybe she failed a test? How does she come back from disappointments she isn't used to happening?
Saikawa Riko
- In the beginning of the series, she isn't very friendly. Why was she mean in the first place? Does she have a backstory?
- Planning a surprise for Kanna.
- Asking Kobayashi or Tohru for advice. Things depend on whether they actually work.
Ships: Kanna Kamui/Saikawa Riko
Kanna Kamui/Saikawa Riko
- How often does Kanna realize Saikawa's feelings? Saikawa's pretty obvious and doesn't hide her feelings, after all.
- Saikawa might end up confessing her love... Or, perhaps, Kanna beats her to it and offers Saikawa something?
- Do they have study sessions together for a difficult test?
- Anything with them learning more about human/dragon world differences, especially if those differences are cute romance things.
- Futurefic would be great, too! How do they deal with growing up? Do things get more serious later? Does Kanna try to emulate Tohru's behavior on Kobayashi and Saikawa has to remind her she likes her the way she is?
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is the story about Kobayashi, an everyday office worker. One day, Kobayashi meets Tohru, a dragon. Tohru is so enamored with Kobayashi that she visits her and begins to live with her. The relationship between Kobayashi and Tohru is explored throughout the story as well as Tohru's romantic feelings for her. Kobayashi's family grows even more when Kanna, a young dragon, joins them later. This series is on the humor and slice of life. The series is 12 episodes and can be accessed on Crunchyroll.
Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku | Magical Girl Raising Project (Anime)
Habutae Nana | Sister Nana, Ashuu Shizuku | Weiss Winterprison
The darker and bloodier side of this canon is my favorite part of it, as well as the struggle to stay alive and the desperateness and bleakness the situation provides. But I'd love to see happier moments, too! AUs where characters live, characters showing how strong they are, using their powers, doing magical girl activities, etc., are all welcome. I picked Winterprison and Sister Nana because I really want to seethem do even more that the canon didn't let them do. They had a tragic ending, and I want to see them either beat the odds or more into who they were.
Habutae Nana | Sister Nana
Ships: Nana/Shizuku
Magical Girl Raising Project is a story about all types of magical girls. Koyuki is intrigued by magical girls, and she joins a game called Magical Girl Raising Project, a popular game all about magical girls. However, even though Koyuki is turned into a magical girl herself, it turns out that the magical girls in this series are pitted against each other and must kill for survival. The series is dark and includes death and gore. The series is 12 episodes and can be accessed on Crunchyroll. Yen Press also releases the light novels in English.
- Nana manages to get some (if not all) of the magical girls to cooperate against Fav. I'd love to see how she accomplishes this, what kind of talks with the others she must have, her planning and being a strategist.
- Early days as a magical girl. How did other magical girls see her, especially as a nun magical girl? Do they underestimate her, and does she show them how strong she is?
- What kind of things does she like to do in her free time? Or who does she help as a magical girl?
- Thoughts on being a magical girl? How does Shizuku enjoy it? How much does she enjoy her powers?
- What does she learn from Nana's mentoring? Does she ever try to learn magical girl techniques on her own?
- I wouldn't mind seeing her go out and save someone on her own just to impress Nana.
Ships: Nana/Shizuku
Sister Nana/Weiss Winterprison
- Since they share an apartment and are together, anything domestic would be nice to see. What are their daily routines besides being magical girls? Routines? Do they have other jobs?
- Celebrations after long days being magical girls. Do they make dinner for each other, go out, become intimate?
- Winterprison and Sister Nana avoid Fav and Clamberry's detection and survive. How differently does Winterprison's fight against Clamberry go differently?
- Things Winterprison or Sister Nana would do to protect each other.
- What were their lives like back in high school? How did they meet? Did they meet in a club, or did they share the same class? Was Shizuku always strong and Sister Nana admired her strength from day one?
- —Winterprison is lenient on whatever Sister Nana wants to do. Sister Nana wanting to meet with Swim Swim ended badly, for example. Why is she dedicated to protecting her? How does Sister Nana feel about this?

Kimi no Na wa. | Your Name.
Miyamizu Mitsuha, Tachibana Taki
This is a magical little film. I need to know more! I love Shinkai's style, and his art makes the film's magical realism all the more prominent. The nostalgic element to the narrative—the feeling that something whimsical happened before, or we're looking for something we can't understand in life—speaks to me. I'd love all kinds of things: a deeper look at the comet and the supernatural elements of it, post-canon fic, a closer look at Mitsuha and Taki's friends and family, or anything during the time Mitsuha and Taki are still body swapping.
Miyamizu Mitsuha
- How does she get along with her father post-canon? I liked the moment in canon he realizes that Mitsuha isn't herself. What does that mean? Does she ever find out what he was thinking in that moment, and what does he tell her after the whole incident? Did he have a similar experience?
- More interaction with her her family! I liked seeing her grandmother's resolve to keep the traditions fresh in Mitsuha and Yotsuha's minds about the shrine and Itomori. Does Yotsuha look up to Mitsuha more after the comet fiasco? Is she disappointed that Mitsuha doesn't seem to remember all the details?
- Adjusting to Taki's life. How hard is it for her? What kind of ground rules do Taki and Mitsuha have in place that she accidentally breaks?
- What does Mitsuha think of the city after she moves from Itomori after it's destroyed?
- Memories of Itomori after it's gone.
Tachibana Taki
Your Name. is the a story about body swapping. One day, Mitsuha wakes up and realizes she's in the wrong body when she realizes she's a boy, and Taki realizes he is in Mitsuha's body. It's a crossed-lovers type of story, and the movie explores the main characters' interaction with their situation. But there's a mystery involved that even the two of them don't expect. The movie has stunning imagery (as is Shinkai Makoto's MO) and supernatural elements. Funimation will be releasing Your Name. on DVD/BD in November of 2017.
Ships: Himemiya Anthy/Tenjou Utena
Revolutionary Girl Utena showcases Utena, a girl who wants to become a prince because she met a prince when they was younger. The story has other plans when she suddenly becomes engaged to the Rose Bride, Anthy. The story is focused on growth, adolescence, romance, and surrealism. Right Stuf/Nozomi Entertainment released the series on DVD. It is 39 episodes plus a movie that has an alternate canon to the main anime series. The BD versions will be coming in December 2017.
- Mitsuha's family was the most featured in the film, so how about Taki's family? Does anything change with them?
- Does Taki ever move on from being a waiter? What does he do in the future?
- Does he end up liking the countryside after he lives in Itomori? Does he move to a smaller city just to have a similar experience?
- Adjusting to Mitsuha's life. How hard is it for him? What kind of ground rules do Taki and Mitsuha have in place that he accidentally breaks?
- The good and the bad—tell me about the problems they may face not remembering what happened with the comet, or tell me what they do to cope with their confusion about needing something/someone they can't find. Do they ever come close to meeting each other before the train and stairs at the end?
- What does a happily ever after look like for them? Anything directly after they meet again. What do they talk about? Do they move in together? Are they different from what they remember and it takes time to adjust?
- The comet is likely to fall again in several years since it revisits. Do they think about this, or think about how it impacted the people of the past or future? What do they think about what they went through?
- What kind of relationships did they have while they were apart? Were those relationships fulfilling in ways, or did they just vaguely remember each other along the way and it was obvious?

Shoujo Kakumei Utena | Revolutionary Girl Utena
Himemiya Anthy, Tenjou Utena
The surrealism and rose imagery drew me into this canon, and I fell in love with the ambiguity this series has. So much of it is of course about adolescence and growing older—but there's so much to take away from it and unpack! I'd like to see more about the characters' every day lives, their motivations and feelings, and any other metaphors that you can think of. I like that Utena is so strong-willed about being a prince and doesn't back down for anything. Anthy's thoughts remain a mystery to me, so I'a actually love to dig in her head a bit and see what makes the wheels in her head turn.
I'm familiar with both the TV anime and movie. Most of my prompts are based on the anime, but I enjoyed the movie's canon as well. I, personally, took the movie as both a retelling and sequel to the main TV series. I really wouldn't mind seeing it explored as such.
Himemiya Anthy
- Show me how she was in the past whilst she loved and saved Dios? We can see that she desperately wanted to save him, and she dug her claws in so deep that she never wanted to let go. But that hurt her immensely and she still went through with it. Just how jealous was she? How did the situation exactly escaluate? What kind of person did she used to be before she completely abandoned hope in herself?
- Does she actually hate the world even though she accepted her fate? What is the extent to her real pain?
- Does she hate Utena when she's kind to her or care at all? What kind of things doesn't she say aloud?
- How else does she manipulate people and play the puppeteer? I think she probably does feel bad about it if you reach far enough. Does she justify it?
- How is her life until Utena comes in her life? After Utena comes into her life? What does she think about being the Rose Bride? Does she really care nothing about it, or does she lament over things lost to her over the years?
- How does she feel about Akio in the present? We know she would do anything for him, but how devoted is she from her past self's memories?
Tenjou Utena
- Utena getting advice or just talking about something with Miki, Touga, Nanami, or Juri, especially.
- I particularly hurt in all the right places after Anthy left Utena for the first time. We see that Utena comes back from it, but how does she feel, knowing that Anthy may not have strong feelings towards their friendship? What does she do to make Anthy even more her friend? Does that change her in another way?
- Utena and Wakaba friendship. What do they do while they hang out?
- How does she study up on becoming a prince? Does she read manga, or try to randomly save people, anything else?
- What are her thoughts about Akio? Does she decide to start ignoring Akio and Anthy after she's been warned about it, and how does that work out for her?
Ships: Himemiya Anthy/Tenjou Utena
Himemiya Anthy/Tenjou Utena
- Anthy has moments where she thinks about Utena's kindness, even when she doesn't seem to understand it. How does that impact her expectations of being the Rose Bride?
- I liked that Anthy finally seemed to believe in Utena after she works so hard to protect her, in a way. What happens post-canon when Anthy goes to look for her and leaves her brother behind? Where is Utena after she sets Anthy free? How do Anthy's thoughts change? Is she fully dedicated to it, and does she feel more emotion now that she has a purpose?
- Akio says that it'd be a miracle if she ever dies. Does she ever die? Is she happy, sad, upset? Anthy may die alone, or perhaps she's with Utena at the end of her life? How does it come about?
- What does she think in the moments she betrays Utena? Is she really apathetic about the whole thing? I believe she is, but she can always change her mind. What if she didn't care that Utena was a girl and could become her prince? What if things had gone differently and she didn't?
- Any moments during their daily lives. Dates, duels, talking to their friends/Student Council dustlists, quiet moments, or even trips?
- I loved their dance in the movie.
- Honestly, I'll take other AUs based on being a prince/princess/priestess/royalty or anything like that that play off similar character tropes.
- Based on the movie ending, what happens to them now at the end? What does the entire thing mean to them to get to the outside world? How do they build their lives from there?

Tokyo Babylon
Sakurazuka Seishirou, Lady Sumeragi
Tokyo Babylon has a weatlh of interesting concepts because of its setting, and I like the casefic aspects. On the flip side, I like ghosts, blood, commentary on 1990s Tokyo and its people, introspection for Lady Sumeragi and Seishirou, thoughts history and legends, emphasis on human emotions, social issues, and cherry blossom symbolism. I like the relationship between Subaru, Seishirou, and Hokuto, and by all means feel free to show them together. I have visited Tokyo and any mentions of real locations are also good.
Sakurazuka Seishirou
- I wouldn't mind seeing a normal day for him. How does he work around staying up late at night, visiting Subaru and Hokuto, joining Subaru on cases, and working as a vet? Does it ever take a toll on him? Who notices?
- Fic about him when he's younger and getting into the Sakurazukamori role is always good. Or anything about how he views other people.
- Thoughts about the bet, his growing (or stagnated) view of it. I ship Seishirou/Subaru, so what if he notices Subaru has feelings for him? What does he think about that? Does it annoy him and does he do about it?
- Perhaps he never gets stabbed in the eye. Or tell me why he doesn't seem to think that being stabbed doesn't matter anymore—he seems rather emotionless about that when he mentions it at the hospital. Is it hard for him to adjust after the bet is over?
- Seishirou living life after the bet. I like him watching Subaru, or going about his life and thinking something is missing. Or anything about possible regrets.
Lady Sumeragi
- Anything about her past: being the Sumeragi head, her views on the Sakurazuka, her days of solving casefic herself.
- How she views Hokuto and Subaru being Tokyo. How much does she worry about them?
- Post-canon and what she does after Seishirou injures her. Or perhaps he doesn't and something else happens?
Relationships: Sakurazuka Seishirou & Lady Sumeragi
- These are two people who should have hostilites. Lady Sumeragi obviously distains Seishirou for being the Sakurazukamori, but how does Seishirou view her? He doesn't seem particularly worried about her influence.
- What if they were in a situation where they couldn't fight? Do they work together? Say, Subaru gets in trouble, and Lady Sumeragi refuses to let Seishirou do anything himself.
- Lady Sumeragi is around when Subaru, Hokuto, and Seishirou are together. Perhaps she's visiting the twins and Seishirou arrives out of nowhere. Does she know who Seishirou is, or does she realize it later? How much tension is there?
- I would like a fic where they just... sit down and talk over tea. You know why? Because body language and talking about their respective viewpoints/families gives me life.
- Or have them fight.
- Anything about how they interact after the bet and Lady Sumeragi tries to save Subaru? Does Lady Sumeragi manage to hurt him a little if she has a better angle?
Tokyo Babylon is set in early 1990s Tokyo, Japan. The story follows the teenage exorcist Subaru, Subaru's sister Hokuto, and their older veterinary friend Seishirou. The series has casefic and supernatural elements. Originally, Tokyopop released all seven volumes in single volumes. Dark Horse Comics has released the series more recently in omnibus format.
